    Walmart Clothing Try-On

I tried something new today on my Essential Farm Wife Instagram page. I posted an Instastory try-on with three new pieces from Walmart’s Time and Tru line. I shared one of their new cardigans, a jean jacket and a red and black Buffalo checked shirt. I think pretty much all of Walmart’s clothing is affordable and the Time and Tru line is my favorite. These clothes wash and wear so well. I’ve been pretty happy with them thus far. You can find my Essential Farm Wife Instagram page at the bottom of the Home page. A Bunch of Thoughts

First things first…today is September 11th. A date that forever will be engrained into many Americans minds. You hear that date and you instantly think back to the events and where you were when you heard the news that our country was being attacked. I was a sophomore in college, driving to my first class that morning, when I heard what was happening to the World Trade Centers. Getting Settled

This past weekend I went back to Illinois to spend time with family. Ryan isn’t always able to join me for trips down South and this happened to be one of those solo trips for me. One of my nieces is celebrating a birthday this week and we celebrated last weekend. Before I got married, I had attended every single birthday party for all of my nieces and nephews. I knew after getting married and moving to Iowa that I would not always be able to attend those celebrations, but I try to when I can. Thankfully, technology makes it a little easier these days to be in “attendance”. Driving…

    Weekend Recap

This past weekend wasn’t going to be overly busy and, before I knew it, it was gone. The only thing we really had planned to do was go on a date Friday evening. We haven’t been on an official date in quite a few months. We’d been using grocery trips as our “date”, which is sad considering we haven’t been married long but definitely shows how old we are. A lot of changes have taken place in our lives over the last five months, some due to the pandemic, some not. Some good, some blessings in disguise. So, Ryan felt that we needed a date night. Who’s Open and Who’s…

    Playing Catch-Up

It’s been a week since I’ve had a chance to update my blog. My youngest sister and her family came to Iowa last Wednesday to visit my husband and me before their oldest kids started school. They left Saturday morning and I had every intention of posting some pictures of their visit along with a few new recipes. And, then I got a migraine. If you’ve had those before, you know they can be debilitating. If you’ve never had those before, consider yourself blessed. Ever since the weekend, I’ve been trying to play catch up at the farm. Family Visits I really enjoy when my family comes up here to…
